Kodak EasyShare ReviewCumbersome and unreliable - Version: 6.0.2, 6/26/2007 04:03PM PST

I had to upload photos to Kodak's site using Ofoto Express for a family golf tournament. I have to say that my experience has been less than satisfactory. It took 5 hours to upload 8 photos that were approx. 2mb each from a DSL account. I have 51 more photos to go ... The software has crashed 5 times so far using Mac OS X which is just pathetic. I tried uploading 1 at a time and it still crashed. Considering the resources that Kodak has available to it I wasn't expecting to have any problems. I managed to upload all these photos to my Facebook account within 2 hours and that was including writing comments on each photo and re-arranging them. After this ordeal is over I don't think I'll ever use Kodak's site again. Colour me gone Kodak!

Kodak EasyShare Troubleshooting ReportConflict between Kodak EasyShare v6.0 and QuickTime 7.1.5 - Version: 6.0, 3/18/2007 03:00AM PST

I've often read on this site of other people's of problems after applying Software Update, but never had one myself. So this is a first. After updating to QuickTime 7.1.5, my Kodak EasyShare application would quit whenever I tried to transfer, play or edit a video file. It would do this without generating a Crash Report, or any log file that I could find, which initially made it difficult to pinpoint where the problem was. I initially thought it was related to a new OS X user account I created, coincidentally around the same time the QT update came out. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the EasyShare software, to no avail. It was only when I reverted to QT 7.1.3 (using the instructions on this site: http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=2007031310092798) that the problem went away. To double check that the original problem was not due to an incomplete installation of QuickTime 7.1.5, I did a "forced install" using Pacifist (http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20070313101411459). Hey presto, the problem returned and the app would quit again every time. I don't know enough to figure out whether this problem is limited to my version of the operating system (OS X 10.3.9), or a quirk of my particular machine, though I doubt it. The moral of the story is: Don't upgrade to QuickTime 7.1.5 if you're running Kodak EasyShare. I'm not overly confident that Apple will make fixes in future to accommodate this relatively uncommon(?) competitor to iPhoto, and Kodak don't appear to devote great resources to their Mac ports, but we can always hope that the conflict might possibly be resolved in future releases from one or other party.

Kodak EasyShare ReviewI'm now on my 8th hour trying to install - Version: 6.0, 9/7/2006 11:32AM PST

I've installed/uninstalled/reinstalled easyshare 6.0 for my intel MacBook Pro about 7,000 times. I've followed their directions over and over again and have tried about everything I can imagine. Kodak's automated responses are magical.

Considering how many people are having this exact issue, you'd think they'd have a better automated response. I should have gotten the HP.
