Works great for me. A must have for podcasters and great fun for phone pranks/responding to annoying calls. I love it!

Tried to get different files to open in this program but each and every one was dimmed out preventing me from even draging and droping. Is there something I do not understand? Please let me know as I think this would be a great program to use.

I think its pretty much a virtual cart machine, just like it says. It plays all file types, and mixed file types with no problems. My only wish is that the crossfade times be user definable, and maybe even uniquely customizable for the end and beginning of each song.
Great work. I hope the developer keeps going with it. There needs to be a lot more Mac apps like this one for broadcasting and DJing.

This is a great program for playing live set lists of background tracks for musical groups in addition to using it as a true radio cart.
Too bad there continues to be problems with the "Select Sound File..." command within a Cart Editing window (with normal .aif files generated from GarageBand) - the Finder just can't open the files in this manner forcing you to do drag-n-drop.
The new navigation feature is probably nice but without visual feedback, I dunno.

Make sure that you have the volume indicator (slider) for the cart
(button) turned up, and the system volume turned up as well.

.mp3 files from my iTunes library and assigned them a keyboard hotkey. Neither played. Renamed the files with .Mp3 extension, as shown in the .pdf file which accompanies the program, and that didn't work either. So far, I've heard no sound from this sound program...gives me pause...

I figured out that not the entire area in each slot was drag and drop activated, but only the topmost portions -- I was then able to actually drag in all sorts of files. MP3s, Mods, XMs, QuickTime MOV sounds, WAVs, RMs and RAMs, Aiffs, Sound Designer, Midi, Mac OS 7 system sounds... AND... it actually PLAYED the MP3s, the MOVs, the Aiffs, Midis, S.D.s and WAVs. But not the others. Not the Mac OS sounds, nor the Mods or XMs nor RMs nor a few others I think I'm forgetting. Plus, it really messes with the system sound volume setting! Except for being able to control it within the program, it sets the system-wide level to maximum, which can only be undone by quitting the program. Plus, there are volume controls within the program, but you can't fast forward within clips, nor chose where to begin or restart within them. Soooooo... all in all -- it's buggy, and messy and inconvenient. Needs lots of work. But a decent start, I guess.

problem with file names. I had a lengthy MP3 file name which wouldn't go in. Once I shortened it, it popped in with no problem.
We use a very expensive commercial product at the station for most audio control functions. If takes a very complicated and touchy sequence of keyboard entries to program audio into the buttons. With Soundbyte it's drag-and-play simple.
Tremendously useful product for broadcast professionals and wannabes!
