Product Description:

SpeedChimera allows you to take advantage of speed increase in Chimera by enabling HTTP pipelining in Chimera 0.6. SpeedChimera also provides a GUI that allows you to tweak many hidden preferences and modify standard Chimera preferences.

What's new in this version:

  • Revamped Interface
  • "Custom" tab allows you to tweak many hidden features found in Chimera (browser identity, blinking text, auto-complete, history, favicons, tab focusing, minimum font size, etc.)
  • "Advanced" tab allos you to edit the Chimera preferences in any way you see fit
  • Now updates information permanently (downloading new Chimera version or updating preferences within Chimera itself won't affect your preferences)

size feature is worth the download, but other than that it's not all that useful.

Mozilla's documentation, HTTP pipelining is an experimental feature, and some servers (such as VersionTracker's) don't handle it well.

didn't notice any speed increase on my 56K. In fact, pipelining on 56K messed up some page rendering...such as most of VT. Mostly it was graphics loading in the worng place or in place of other graphics.
