Have been using SilverFast for some time now.
I love the new v6.5! I am using it with my Powerlook- the newly added film negative profiles helped me out a lot.
I appreciate the software and can reccomend it to anyone.

...Not Another DIme From Me...This is not a refelction on SIlverFast, but on Umax. Please remember how shabbily Mac users have been treated by Umax and do not reward them with your business. If you own a Umax scanner (which I did), fair enough. But if you're buying one, think twice.

I purchased the silverfast software, after detailed inquiryduring which I was repeatedly assured it would work fine with my admittedly older - but HUGE and lightning-fast (32 slides in one pass) flatbed Powerlook II scanner w SCSI to my 17" G4 powerbook 1.33 w firewire 4/800 as long as I purchased a third party adapter w software and drivers - I did (and subsequently spent a bunch more) , and w extensive highly qualified University tech support could never get Silverfast to work. I do believe the reports from users who can get it to go, that it apparently is great software - but after more than a month of emailing w very polite (although not directly accesible) Silverfast tech support, I just gave up - there just wasn't enough time in my day - it is a folder on my desktop now, called "Silverfast" to irritate me and remind me to not get anything else from folks who cannot talk even experienced users through setup troubles and turmoil...
