Product Description:

Voice Box was written in cocoa for Mac OS X users who wish to output the Mac's cool 'text to speech' system into an audio file (aiff). Voice Box is simple to use, but is a very powerful and versatile utillity for your Mac.
Voice Box will read out each word as you type it, in 1 of 22 voices. Voice Box is the only application in the world (that we know about) that lets you change the pitch and rate of the Mac's in-built voices and then save it out to an aiff sound file. Once you start using Voice Box we think you'll agree that this is an absolute gem of a utillity!
Download the latest news directly into Voice Box using xml technology. We have inluded links to lots of valuable sites. For example, as Voice Box is Applescript compatible you could write a script to download the news automatically everyday from your favourite website and have Voice Box read it out or save it as a sound file ready for transfer to your iPod.

this program is a ripoff. Essentially the program amounts to a mediocre interface for built-in Apple technologies. It would be a great freeware, a weak $5 shareware, and is outrageous @ $20 bucks. For less money ($16) do yourself a favor and get AudioHijack. It has far more feautres (e.g. equalizer) and can record audio from any application . The same effect can be achieved by recording TextEdit TTS.

Voice Box has many features and enhancements that have taken our developers many hours to implement.

Voice Box is also an RSS news reader.
Voice Box is fully Apple Scriptable.
Voice Box is the only app that can change the pitch & rate and save it to a sound file.

These are just a few of the great features in Voice Box, All of the above features are not trivial to add.

How u simply added a few lines of code to a program that apple created for free in their developer tools and smacked on this price tag. Anyone who bought os x has the developer tools cd. This is the path to pretty much this same program, w/o the aiff export feature, which can be accomplised witha few lines of added code.

Look at it yourself, it is surprisinlgly similar to yours....lol your description says that urs is the only program that can change the pitch? Everyone w/this program on the developer tools has that too.

1 star for ripping off apples free examples and selling them as your own product.
