What's new in this version:
- Fully Automatic IT8-Calibration: Added a new feature that improves the IT8 calibration. The IT8 target will be recognized automatically and performs all steps until reporting success.
- Scan frame: Look of scan frame changed. Instead of cross-hairs for rotating half-arcs can be used now. Also active frame is blinking in order to be noticed easier.

small claims lawsuit today against UMAX because of their refusal to continue to support their "Mac-compatible" scanners. All affected UMAX scanner owners should do this. Mac users shouldn't buy products from this company and PC users should be wary about this company's poor attitude toward new operating systems.

has categorically stated that they will NOT be providing any support whatsoever under OS X for their prior OS scanners. No drivers, nothing! I have written to their president, their legal department, and to other departments without getting any response. My local MAC dealer terminated their relationship with UMAX because of their dirty tricks to get us to buy more scanners. Apple also terminated their relationship according to my dealer. I just found out my father's company also has had unresolved problems with UMAX. This company is not deserving of anyone's business. Forget UMAX!

the company is really stupid to make each version of its application a different "product" on VT, as no one is going to write comments for each version with each scanner. It worked, and pretty much like the "old days" scanning software. Not better and not worse. After all these years aith Vuescan I don't really appreciate them making a menu item in Photoshop that keeps me from automating the scanning process with Quickeys or Applescript. Buttons on my Astra 6400 (which works otherwise) are not useable, so this is even more of a hassle than it would be. Well, let's hope the company continues to improve the application!
