Product Description:

The n50 SpeedPad is the first gaming device of its kind, a completely new gaming tool that transcends conventional categories such as game pads, joysticks, etc. The SpeedPad can best be described as a combination keyboard and game pad. The 10 keys on the n50 act as keys on a keyboard with the advantage of being easily accessible and intuitively configured. The n50 also has an eight-way directional pad, much like the d-pad on a standard game pad. Itâ??s an innovative, multipurpose tool that will lift your gaming experience to a whole new level.

Belkin Nostromo n52 SpeedPad ReviewNostromo Array controller 2.0 aplication aware - thank you! - Version: 2.0, 11/25/2008 08:29AM PST

I use the nostromo keypay for workflow shortcuts primarily in Photoshop and Lightroom: www.makelightreal.com/action/

Version 2.0 brings application specific settings to the Mac version which is a HUGE PLUS

Thank you Nostromo!

Gone is the cool layout map in v1 - and moved into the system preferences - but the application specific settings make this the efficient little gem that it should be.

Other solutions are too many keys, not ergonomic, or very too expensive!

The driver works fine for me but it dumps mounds of useless data into both console.log and system.log. I reported this to Belkin. Their response was "Unfortunately, there is no way to disable that feature." That's right, the classic "It's a feature, not a bug." That's great, just mindlessly fill up my disk space with error messages that couldn't possibly be useful for anyone that's not actually developing the software for them. I guess they encourage their employee's to leave in their debug statements.
