Macally ICEKey ReviewIt works for me - Version: 1.0, 5/13/2009 03:20PM PST

DKroot
It works for volume control keys and Eject. I could not reproduce problems described earlier - both Terminal and arrows in iTunes work fine. If I encounter any problems - I'll update this thread.

The only key which is not working is Num Lock. It works only as Clear key - just like on the latest Apple keyboards. There is no way to cancel default "Num Lock = on" state. It's a bit confusing since Num Lock LED is actually off.

macally.com has a newer (or at least repackaged) version circa 2008. However, this version dumps debug messages to Console on each keystroke. See http://discussions.apple.com/post!reply.jspa?threadID=1993310 for more info.

Macally ICEKey ReviewSuccess - Version: 1.0, 1/19/2008 12:00AM PST

I'm not sure if the version at Macally is different to the one posted here (a difference of 20k or so), but my IceKEY keyboard is working perfectly! Volume keys and Eject key all fully functional! Am running Leopard on MBP (luckily Leopard came installed, which may make a difference). Will even sleep/wake from sleep with full functions (my pre-Leopard iBook dual-usb would always wake from sleep due to the keyboard).

So relieved - the best keyboard I've ever tried, so I'm glad this driver has it running properly.

Macally ICEKey ReviewA great keyboard deserves great software - Version: 1.0, 8/6/2007 10:00AM PST

Once you install this driver and boot into Terminal, no command can be typed without producing a string of repeating letters ad infinitum. Several years seems longer than necessary to fix this problem. More important, why should we need a driver for the Macally ICEKey? Macally's inexpensive iKeySlim works properly right out of the box. Why not the same for the ICEKey? Too bad: the ICEKey is a beautiful keyboard.
