Product Description:

The Cartoon Editor is a simple tool to create animated gifs and modest QuickTime movies. Built on top of Java2D, it offers transparencies, gradients, styled text, splined curves, vector-based animation, and many many more big words. A simple but efficient interfaces makes it fun to play around with.

Cartoon Editor ReviewGreat Application! - Version: 1.4.52, 2/26/2004 10:27AM PST

    I downloaded this app from VT 7 months ago, and never got a chance to play with it. Today, I launched the app for the very first time, created an animation, and exported it to QuickTime in less than 8 minutes! I had no prior experience with this application -- or with any animation app, for that matter -- nor did I read any instructions. (I even missed the little startup window that gives you the option of selecting what you want to do...onna counta my desktop was loaded with stuff.) No matter...Cartoon Editor is so easy to use, so intuitive...I just did it.
    I went back to VT to find the app and figure out how to pay whatever the heck they're charging for this great app, and...was ist los?? Freeware?!? How can this possibly be friggin' freeware? YOW!!
    My thanx to "the entire staff" at Jeremy D. Wood Software -- that vast collection of great minds who toiled endlessly to create Cartoon Editor. (heh)
NOTE: This review is for v1.452. For some reason, v1.453 won't launch in Panther (I haven't tried it in Jaguar).

Now that you've stopped allowing export to GIF, especially since it's because of patent issues, you should work on adding MNG support.

Fairly average. Nothing really special. The interface is confusing to the first timer and has some bizzarre features, unlabeled controls and clutter.

Go for something else. I doubt whether the other 5-Star reviews are legit.
