I love this app. It sits in the top right corner of all our desktops and laptops and once a user is shown what it does they love it. It is great being able to add custom plug-ins for sites that meet our particular needs. Yes Google and Yahoo searches are nice, and an eBay search or two is useful, but the real winners for us are not only the custom plug-ins, but also the Show URL and the dictionary. These two are indispensable for the type of web-savvy and impatient users I face.

used Simple Search to get back here to VersionTracker. I like the customizability...not only of sites, but also of being able to add your own options to those sites (Google groups and Google images are default examples). Unobtrusive, and one of the only programs to allow an old-fashioned URL entry. Would prefer to be hidden from dock, though the icon isn't bad.

search bar out there -- free or not. Easy to configure your own plugins, and it looks nice. My only wish is to remove the dock icon, but I can live with it.

a transparency option. Unlike other search bar tools, this one actually uses the prefs I've set up for Google to return 100 hits per page, no content filtering, etc. Additional search sites would be helpful (via some kind of plug-in ala Sherlock?...just a thought). Like the scroll-over expand option, but the pop-up description tags are a little annoying. Need an option to turn that off. Very nice and simple. I'd pay for this, but it's awesome that I don't have to!!! Keep up the good work!
