Product Description:

Dragster is a utility that helps fix the Jaguar issue of not being able to drag and drop any files in the Finder or to and from the Dock. It also helps fix the missing icon issue that goes along with drag and drop issues.

It does this by deleting the following files that are known to be problematic from time to time, and may be the cause of the issues noted above:
  • com.apple.desktop.plist
  • com.apple.dock.plist (your choice to delete this or not)
  • com.apple.finder.plist
  • com.apple.LaunchServices.LocalCache.csstore
  • com.apple.LaunchServices. plist
  • com.apple.LauchServices. UserCache.csstore
  • LSApplications
  • LSClaimedTypes
  • LSSchemes
  • The contents of the /Library/Caches/ folder

What's new in this version:

  • Added the .DS Store files to the files being deleted
  • Added the Global Preferences plist to the files being deleted
  • Added additional caches to the deletion (list below)

It saved me from reinstalling everything from scratch.

coreservicesd and Finder have gone mad right after Apples last security update -
I spend to much time poking around in the filesystem - deleting caches, fixing permissions and wondering what was going on - after one week without drag
and drop and a messy Finder I finally found Dragster.

Dragster fixed everything and just ***saved*** me from going mad --- Thanx !!!

Just wanted to say Dragster indeed fixed my finder drag & drop problems and after running it I also got a noticeable speed boost after replacing my .ds store file. Thank you.
