Product Description:

M1 is an Arcade music player for Mac OS X. M1 plays the music from arcade games by running the code in the original ROMs (not supplied). The current release supports seven hundred different games. M1 emulates nine different CPUs to play music and sounds from games running on over eighty different arcade boards.

What's new in this version:

Aside from being up to date with the latest PC core, the Mac-specific code has seen a total rewrite. This is most visible in the new interface, which is pretty similar to Audio Overload. However, the source code is also much cleaner now and very easy to maintain, meaning that it will be released as open source as soon as R. Belmont decides to take that road with the core.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

M1 ReviewF3 System broken? - Version: 0.7.4, 1/3/2004 05:06PM PST

Puzzle Bobble 2 (F3 System) is broken. A good example is song 3.

Perhaps this is a general F3 System problem? It still cuts out on those systems and songs.

Works as advertised. The "save to wav." feature is cool. BUT, the scroll is wonky, both with the arrows and the scroll bar. (At least with the ROM file aliased to MacMame.)

M1 CommentaryWhat bugs do you refer to? - Version: 0.7.2, 5/29/2003 05:15PM PST

I would like to know what bugs you are referring to in M1 0.7.2, under OS 9. If they're legitimate bugs that exist under OS X as well, they may be fixed. If not, then there may be workarounds at least. Please list what the "bugs" are, and which game(s) they affect. Do note that the Technos/ROMSTAR driver (used in Double Dragon, for example) seems to produce some whacked results for me in 9. I'll have to check it in X to make sure it's not just OS 9's Craptacular behaviour. DO NOT SEND OS 9 BUGS TO THE AUTHOR. He will not listen to them. Post them HERE and I will try and see if they exist in both 9 and X.
