Product Description:

logMonitor allows you to real time monitoring for the Mac OS X or Mac OS X Server's "httpd access_log", "ftp.log" and "wtmp log (aka. logins records)" in the separate window, and also can alert you while it detects the "root" user logins, the purpose to make this program is for people don't need to use Terminal.app to type UNIX command, simply click on the button and it will display the appropriate log files for you.

What's new in this version:

  • Added time interval settings for individual logMonitor windows.
  • Added process window for "Check For Update" function.
  • Added "Reset All logMonitors To Real-Time..." command under the Control menu.
  • Added "All Continue" command under the Control menu.
  • Added "All Pause" command under the Control menu.
  • Fixed the "View httpd log", "View ftp log" and "View logins records" command under the window menu, now it can change to the appropriate logMonitor window correctly.
  • Fixed the windows placement and positioning.
  • Changed some command key shortcut.
  • Fixed some minor bugs.

Gorgeous
a pretty darn smooth about it. Although that, combined with Real Basic make it dog a tad. _ _ _ This is what boggles me, as a CLIaphobe server newbie; These monitor/log checking apps are meant to be run from clients right? So why doesn't the setup predict that we'll be looking to specify our server first thing during setup? I'm sure I'm missing something here. Or missing everything here. ?

a great part of the system resources/cpu. Even if everything has been set up to don't check anything before minutes, the spinning beach ball cursor will appear for seconds when you select any button or try to move any window... And what an idea ! Putting an icon in a toolbar to close a window! Wouldn't the standard Mac OS X window red closing candy be more appropriate? We are far from FileMonitor (the one from P&L software, a freeware) and from the excellent shareware LogMaster (probably better for newbies).
