What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug that could cause crashes if you turned on both the "Hide Timer Window" option and the "Show time in window title bar" option in the Appearance pane of the preferences window.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the dock timer to stop counting or disappear if you turned on the "Hide Timer Window" option. You'd think I should have known about that one before, huh?

Coffee Break Pro X Troubleshooting ReportCannot write User Prefs File - Version: 2.2, 7/5/2005 02:43AM PST

I have been testing CBP for some days an suddenly, it claims it cannot wirte the user preferences file. Naturaly, this prevents it from storing my settings. I cannot figure why, since the ~/Library/Preferences folder is perfectly writable for the proces owner. All other apps would have the same problem, anyway, if the folder wasnt writable.

Running: Tiger 10.4.1; PowerBook Alu.

Coffee Break Pro X CommentaryFeedback from the developer... - Version: 2.2, 8/10/2004 11:05AM PST

I'd like to say thanks to everyone for your comments! I've noticed a lot of people saying Coffee Break Pro is too pricey. Unfortunately, it is a niche product (ie, has a limited audience), and thus must cost a little more. For years I charged only $5-$6, and that didn't even pay for the development tools. I would eventually have had to drop it at that price. Priced at $20, it has been significantly more successful. Also, I like the comment about the horrible graphics! I, too, feel that the program has outgrown the screen saver graphics that have been with it since 1994. I plan to do something about this at some point in the future. If anyone wants to submit graphics, let me know via the support form on the BitJuggler website.

Coffee Break Pro X CommentaryLove/Hate Relationship - Version: 2.2b2, 7/1/2003 07:09PM PST

I've developed a love-hate relationship with CoffeeBreak Pro, mostly because it does what it says it'll do: Lock up your machine and FORCE you to take breaks. I'm prone to arm, shoulder and neck aches from too much computing, yet I don't seem able to walk away from my machine when I'm fully involved in something unless I'm forced to. CoffeeBreak Pro is that force. It probably should be a little cheaper, and it definitely needs improvement on the screen-break graphics. On the overall, though, it's a good purchase for those who need more than a gentle reminder to take a break.
