Product Description:

Take Transmit, our long standing, very Mac-like FTP / SFTP client. Then, add a ton of new features, including column view, tabs, a sidebar, new favorites, search, dock status, spring loaded folders, iDisk and WebDAV support, and much more.

The end result? We think it's the ultimate Mac FTP client, with more innovative features than anywhere else, and it makes FTP as simple, easy, and fun as, well, the Mac!

What's new in this version:

  • BBEdit (and other editors that support the ODB suite) can now properly display remote document paths
  • Added preference to specify a default text editor to use for all "Unknown" file extensions
  • Added preference to choose any system sound for the upload completion alert
  • Transmit will more reliably reconnect to FTP servers when the connection is unexpectedly closed
  • Improved responsiveness when navigating files
  • Added new Advanced preference to specify a per-server file listing parser
  • Folders with a 0 byte size are now correctly reported as 0 bytes instead of "--"
  • Users may now set "000" permissions on files or folders
  • Folders with localized names are now properly displayed in column view
  • Default tab width is now ever-so-slightly larger
  • Hitting escape to cancel a drag in column view will no longer restart the drag
  • Moving local items in column view will now update the columns more consistently
  • On Mac OS X 10.3.9, small icons will now appear even if the icon resources don't contain them
  • "Edit with" app menu now gets updated when custom file editor list is modified
  • Files being edited on server now get saved properly when they are 0 bytes
  • Transmit's .Mac sync entry can now be removed with the TransmitSync application (see support page)
  • Fixed a potential crash when connecting to Windows FTP servers
  • Fixed a bug in which a Transmit window may not appear on launch and/or crash on quit
  • Fixed a potential crash when local folders updated quickly
  • Removed two non-working text encoding options: Japanese (Shift-JTS X0213) and Simplified Chinese (GB 2312)
  • Will no longer reattempt uploading a file when Transmit gets a 552 error
  • Fixed a bug that caused the "apply permissions" button to not work in certain cases

Transmit Reviewexcellent ftp software - Version: 3.6.9, 11/17/2009 07:32AM PST

Evil Lair
I keep trying other ftp software over the years, some free and some not, but this consistently has the fewest issues. It is also the only ftp software I've used that does not freak out over or hide files that have unicode text file names (Japanese).

Coming from Windows two years ago to Macs...I needed a dependable FTP client. I left Voyager and Transmit took it's place.

Awesome program!
