Taggerwocky X CommentaryiTunes dows not edit ID tags - Version: 1.2, 2/2/2004 02:48PM PST

Just checked. iTunes stores the tag information somewhere within itself, not in the MP3 file. So anything you change in iTunes will be lost if you move the MP3 files to somewhere else.

Taggerwocky X ReviewOnly editing tags is perfect - Version: 1.2, 1/31/2004 07:34PM PST

While iTunes is a wonderful program, I have been in the computer industry long enough to realise two things:

1. It is always better to put good data into a database than to rely on the program to fix it up for you. Often, they do not quite do what you want. So I would prefer to set the tags in my MP3s before I stuff them into iTunes.

2. All-in-one programs are great until you decide you want to use something else, then you have the problem of how do you get your valuable data/files out in a form that you can use.

So I think a program that allows me to edit tags is very useful.

The only thing I wish it would do is to allow me to drag a file onto it rather than having to use the menu.

Taggerwocky X Troubleshooting ReportCan't open mp3 copied from pc - Version: 1.2, 1/24/2004 09:03PM PST

Hi, I can't open an mp3 file that I've copied over from a PC, encoded with lame. I assume that this is probably because the file has no metadata (creator or file type), but it does have a .mp3 file extension. This should be easy to fix in your application, assuming that the problem exists within your program.
