Very good so far....

I've been using this for just over a week now and so far so good. I had one glitch whereby I hadn't moved the preference file into (/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences). I'd emailed the developer and had a prompt and helpful response which solved this. It's worth a note that I had to switch off FileVault to successfully install this (Switching it back on after installation is fine). Overall I'm very pleased with this extremely useful script.

Do NOT download this piece of crap! As soon as it downloaded on 10.4.7, it crashed Safari and when I re-opened, all of my preferences for Safari were reset to the base preferences. THIS PROGRAM IS JUNK!

I would like to thank Georg Klein of Kleinware. These days we expect software to be great and to work perfectly. Kleinware does that so that hurdle is passed. The differentiation is in the experience dealing with the company behind it. I had some strange installation issues and Georg worked very effeciently to resolve my issue. I will recommend this software to everyone I know on OS X.

I tried this in Mail 2.0. Doesn't seem to do anything other than ask what calendar. Doesn't ask what date to attach the event to or anything like that. I did get this in my Console:
ISyncSession record validation failure: pushRecord: resulted in ISyncChange add and is missing required property owner on entity com.apple.calendars.Attendee

New way of handling calendar designation - Version: 1.3, 1/6/2006 06:35AM PST

I think Mail2iCal is great. I recently upgraded from 1.1.4 to 1.3 and found that there has been a change in how the email is transferred to an event. Specifically, I used to be prompted to designate on which calendar I wanted the email event to register. Now, it creates a new calendar called "Email". You can then designate another calendar if you want. The problem is that every time you add an email event (or To Do item if using the Mail2ToDo script), there is a new Email calendar added. There is now an extra step of deleting these added calendars--something I didn't have to do with the earlier version of the script. For what it's worth, I much prefer the other way.
As a former Entourage user, where there was a similar script for creating events out of emails, I liked having the options for selecting the day and time before the event got posted. I know that beggars ought not be choosers, but I thought I'd offer my two cents.
Thanks for your hard work on the script.

I can't get it working.... - Version: 1.3, 11/29/2005 04:03AM PST

... it must be something i have or have not done. I can see the script in the applescript menu under mail scripts, but when i have an email selected and choose the script almost nothing happens.
The dock looks like somethin is about to open but doesn't actually do it.
i figure that other people have got it working so must be me. Any ideas much appreciated.

Hi, I'm trying to get both this script and Mail2iCalToDo working, but they both download as a .app and whether I trigger them from the Applescript menu or I doubleclick them myself, they try to open the Classic environment.
Is there something I need to do to the script? I also tried opening it in the Script Editor, but it looks like they don't open as a proper applescript so I couldn't work with it in there.
Any help is much appreciated!

Hello Nestor,
after reading your message, I tried it myself in iCal 1.5.1 and found it worked flawlessly. Do you invoke it from a rule or manually? Also, please try resetting the script by calling it manually with no messages selected. This will prompt the calendar selection dialog the next time. If this fails, feel free to mail to gklein1 at mac dot com
regards
Georg

Doesn't work with iCal 1.5.1 - Version: 1.1.4, 10/10/2003 11:13AM PST

I installed iCal 1.5.1 and now Mail2iCal has stopped working. It creates an entry in iCal for a split seconds and then the event disappears. Shame--it's a great script that I've used over and over again.
