Product Description:
Macaroni is a tool which handles regular maintenance for Mac OS X. Maintenance includes Unix maintenance, Mac OS X permission repair, and removal of unnecessary language localizations.
- Automatically runs maintenance jobs
- Configurable: Add your own scheduled tasks
- Custom tasks can be scheduled as daily, weekly, monthly, or at regular intervals (such as "every three days").
- Tracks maintenance history
- Displays results of latest maintenance run.
- Tasks may be configured to run only during system idle time.
- Tasks may be configured to wait until your system is plugged in, saving battery power.
- Maintains Mac OS X Unix permissions using the "Permission Repair" utility
What's new in this version:
Fixes a bug that caused problems with Adobe applications. Macaroni will not delocalize Adobe applications any more, because those applications don't like it.

It's not made clear here in any way, which is a shame, but according to the developer's website:

Today's release of Mac OS X 10.6, a.k.a. Snow Leopard, has brought many questions from people who want to know-- Does your software work on this new version of Mac OS X? The answer is, very simply, "yes". The current versions of all of my software work just fine on Snow Leopard. No updates are needed, so you can keep using the version you have.

The tool is very good! Have your file permissions repaired once a week without any hassle!
It also reveals a weekness of VersionTrackerPro - if you have installed Macaroni VersionTrackerPro does not recognise it, at least not with 10.4.11.

Unobtrusive, set it up, and it just works. I have it installed on several Macs. I find it much easier to configure than *censored*tail, for example.
