To play this game, you have to have an account at GamesGrid. The only problem is, they aren't accepting neew accont applications. So if you aren't already a member, this appliction is completely unusable. Move along. Nothing to see here.

GamesGrid Backgammon ReviewBetter than the Windows version. - Version: 1.1.3, 5/16/2005 04:39AM PST

After my previous comments here, it may seem perverse that I'm now expressing a preference for the Mac version, even though it lacks the extensive display options available to Windows users.

Here's the thing... I recently added a Windows PC to my collection of Macs, and the first thing I installed on it was GamesGrid BG (I have my priorities right). I spent a happy 20 minutes designing my board, followed by a less happy half-hour searching for the option setting that would allow me to play clockwise. There wasn't one. D*mn. I hate playing anti-clockwise. Still, at least the board was looking good. Well... actually it wasn't. The graphics were jagged and cheap looking, especially in the perspective view that I was so enthusiastic about.

I came to realise that all the fancy trimmings were just distractions, and that for actually playing BG, the simplicity and sophistication of the Mac version, with its generous playing area and smooth, unobtrusive graphics, was far superior. And of course, I can play clockwise. Perfect.

After upgrading to Tiger, error message: 'Connection Error, host unreachable,...."
Of course, I tried to connect from a Windows PC and all worked fine. It seems there is a problem with Tiger
I also tried to start with a fresh "plist" file, same problem
