the developer's site indicates that the plugin works with "Mac OS X 10.4 or later".

PDF Browser Plugin CommentaryNot quite what I was looking for - Version: 2.3.2, 9/15/2009 07:54PM PST

I've noticed the PCs at work open PDF documents within Internet Explorer much faster than my home setup - a G4 PPC running Safari 3.2.3 under OS 10.4.11. I was hoping to find some way to improve the performance of my home machine.

Using Safari to open http://www.flu.gov/professional/business/smallbiz.pdf with the Adobe PDF browser plug-in takes about 70 seconds on my home machine. (This files is 3.7MB as a download.)

After removing the AdobePDFViewer.plugin from my Library>Internet Plug-Ins folder, the same page loads in Safari in about 22 seconds - better, but still not great.

After installing PDF Browser Plugin v.2.3.2, my speed was no better than Safari's native PDF handling, and I also lost the use of the scroll wheel on my Logitech MX700 cordless mouse (SteerMouse driver). For me, loosing the scroll wheel was a deal breaker, so I uninstalled the plug-in without really testing the display and print capabilities of the plug-in.

Note the developer's version statement. This will fail to display PDFs within Safari if you're running 10.6. Presumably Manfred Schubert will update the plugin for 10.6 soon.
