Downfall ReviewIt's a Fine Game, Really! - Version: 2.5.3, 10/20/2005 01:09PM PST

I've been playing Downfall on my Macs for several years with no problems whatsoever installing updates or with the game's stability. Saying that this game is "dangerous" is absurd. People who experience problems after installing new software tend to be those who don't do regular system maintenance on their computers. Downfall is a fine game, and no, I'm not affiliated with the developers in any way, shape or form.

What a piece of CRAP. Soon as I started the "game", my screen went black and stayed that way. I couldn't quit it, get out of it, or even turn my computer off. I had to hit the reset button. Downfall, great name for this garbage.

Downfall ReviewVerson 2.4.5 seems all fixed - - Version: 2.4.5, 2/23/2005 11:42PM PST

The new version 2.4.5 now seems to work just fine on a Mac 10.3.8 interface - it doesn't obviously need any more work.

My favorite mode, "Classic", is a truly great game - very satisfying, exciting & extremely addictive. The others were less interesting to me. I'd rather it cost less than $20, but I can't say it's not worth it, anymore.

The program really doesn't yet work adequately on a Mac interface. - Yes, it's clumsy and inhospitable to the Mac userworld, but not so bad that it causes crashes or requires "Force Quits" or hard restarts to ge out of it. However, it certainly does NOT deserve Duckhue's "Best of Show ... First Place as the biggest piece of crap I've ever downloaded", although it needs a LOT more work! Definitely not yet worth more than $5.00.

I see now why it may not work. It's for OS 10.0 and I have OS 10.3.8 like most people do. OS 10.0 is like having OS 9. Come on now, baby steps, lets get with the times.

This gets First Place as the biggest piece of crap I've ever doanloaded. I started it up and the screen went black. That was it. I could not quit it or stop it with ANY key or Key combo. I could not even turn my computer off at the keyboard. I had to hit the reset button. I've NEVER had anything do that before. This one goes down to the curb with the other trash. The funny part is that he wants money for it, good joke. GlenTris is free and works very well.

Great and very addicting, I love all the different modes. The interface needs to be a bit faster though, while I understand the coolness behind having the menu items spin around etc, it can be very annoying when you want to click over a few modes and have to sit through the interface flying around.

Downfall Reviewinteresting... - Version: 2.3.1, 8/21/2004 06:06AM PST

This game is definetely interesting but it's not mature yet. There is no windowed mode. There are few display preferences (i wish there was resolution, quality, bit mode etc) I have to agree with other posters that the game is ugly, the 3D text is difficult to read, you really dont need every aspect of the game to be 3D.

There are also too many shareware reminders, once when you start, everytime you try a game thats no enabled in demo mode, when you finish a game, and when you quit the game. Maybe thats how it should be after the trial period, but it would be a lot less annoying and more fun if we could try it for a week and it popped up only when you started and ended the game.

If all of these are improved it might be worth $15, but defintely not the $20 asked now.

Downfall ReviewI hate having required subjects. - Version: 2.1.1, 9/25/2003 11:01PM PST

I like it! I tried it for about an hour and was addicted, wishing I had $15 to spend on a game. I really enjoy the way the menus animate, and how someone has finally made a real 3D block dropping game.. and with so many different modes! My only complaint is that the graphics, although 3D and animated very stylishly, could use a smudge of improvement and maybe even some 2D stuff to balance everything out.
