VBVBSo, even if Final Vinyl works, you still will have to convert the results to MP3s.

Final Vinyl Works! - Version: 2.5, 2/24/2008 01:34PM PST

alinuruIt works well and does what it is supposed to do. I am using it on a Leopard (10.5.2) equipped iMAC. I used a Griffin iMic to hook up a cassette tape deck to the iMAC. I did not select any effects. I was able to produce a CD from a cassette tape.
It is an elegant piece of software that works simply and efficiently. And it is a significant improvement over the previous version.
It would be nice to have a simple manual describing what each of the effects might be used for, what each of the buttons are for and tips on what one might do to improve the process of converting analogue sources to digital media. A Step-By-Step set of instructions to produce a CD from a Tape Cassette or Vinyl Record, would be helpful. I wouldn't mind writing it up if I had access to someone at Griffin, or someone knowledgeable they might recommend, who might help with clarifications.
Thanks again,
Ali Nuru

-Experienced several crashes, but it recovers well without losing the captured music. One crash was on launch. One moving the gain slider.
-The waveform is often inaccurate, with silent parts showing high volume, and rebuilding didn't help.
-It is nearly intuitive to use, but the "connected to turntable" radio button on the EQ > Effects menu is placed at the bottom where it is initially invisible until you scroll or expand the window, so you can easily miss it. It should be at the top next to the other "Typical Connection" button. Go figure. This is the one you'll need if you are importing vinyl (remember the name of the program...), so it's odd that it isn't the default, and that you have to hunt for it.
Note that applied effects can't be undone.
Overall, a nicely done program that is a welcome addition to Griffin's iMic.
