Product Description:

This is a GUI for LAME which is a MP3 encoder that produces high quality sound. MuseP3 allows configuration of most of LAME's options with an interface instead of the normal command-line (from the Terminal). With MuseP3, select file(s) to encode as a MP3, set the desired options (including frequency cutoff, ID3 tags, encoding type, and bitrate), set an output folder, and click "Encode". The Terminal will open and begin encoding with the settings. The Terminal will show the progress and can be quit when encoding is complete. See the QuickStart or ReadMe for more usage information.

Note: It is not necessary to install LAME to use MuseP3

MuseP3 Usage TipBackslash is your friend! ;o) - Version: 0.3b, 11/15/2004 11:50PM PST

Tee Jay

FYI to those who are not command-line savvy: When you enter track/artist/other names in this app, precede any spaces or special characters with a backslash (on Apple keyboards, this is the key above the Return key). Of course, you'll also need to remove all spaces and special characters from your file name before you begin. Additionally, it's best to open from and save to your Desktop, so there won't be spaces in the path. These things should help.

To the developer: In a future version, you can fix the first part by automatically inserting a backslash before all non-alphanumeric characters that the user inputs. If you can't figure out how to do that, you can just insert a backslash before every character input by the user... dirty, but in theory it should work as well.

some others - MuseP3 can't handle spaces in file names, rendering it almost completely useless. Looks like a good tool otherwise. Please fix!

output path cannot be fixed by adding quotes, but I am looking for a solution.
