Installing on IntelMac

I tried downloading Zend-5.5.0 but couldn't get the installer to do anything. No error messages - the installer simply wouldn't start.
After a trying a few different things I discovered that if you use BOMArchiveHelper.app to open the ZendStudio-5_5_0-Mac_OS_X.zip file the installer will work.
Hopefully this information will come in handy for someone else.

Zend Studio could be a killerApp for PHP developper, a great work have been made but:
- Zend does not realease php 5 upgrade , and don't support upgrade.
- Zend does not support character display on Macintosh
- Zend does realease his product for Macintosh in a beta state
- Zend does not have at least one Macintosh specialist in house - but pretend to sell Macintosh Product !!!
- Zend just don't have a professional level support - but nice studdent that do their best.
- Zend Product are delivered "has is" and whenever you will have a problem it is your problem, no professional developpers are dedicated to the support.
- Some bug can lead to loose your data
beside that it a nice debugger if you have a quad with two 24" screen.
Zend has the monopole over PHP debugger and does behave has any monopolistic organisation, the management feel untouchable.
If Zend studio has so much bug, it is because Zend is directed by an inefficient management team.
Don't support this team, don't promote or use their product and teach people evry alternative until they change their behavior.
Zend will not desapear but theire management will be fired and, i hope, the new team will be lead by a serious player.
Fight for Zend Studio to become the KillerApp it could and should be.

Sure Zend Studio has a long list of features, but many of them add more to advertisement then to coding productivity. And this horrible design... if its a professional tool, it's supposed to be ugly, they say? Not on macintosh.
It's certainly very possible and feasible to code large projects without it, contrary to what the bots here proclaim. I'm using currently TextMate editor, and I find it more helping then this studio. Actually, vim is quite enough for anything you really need.
