SilverFast literally wrote the book (available at their website) on high-end scanning for those who wish to spend a bit of time learning proper scanning techniques. There is a reason virtually every professional scanner comes with SilverFast included.

a bargain at 3 times the price, and we should be grateful that our hardware is so cheap, too. The color correcting that SilverFast makes possible has paid for itself in the first hour.

again (after checking LaserSoft to make sure that this wasn't a typo) $119 bucks for software to run a scanner I got for 129 bucks is insanity!!!! Even if I had paid 300 bucks for the scanner this is too high!! There is a functional and very excellent driver/twain for this scanner out there already! Make it 60 bucks and it MIGHT be worth it!
