a terrific application. With the demise of MacBoot and the finickiness of Startup Syringe, BootImage Pal is a terrific way to create boot images to be inserted by Startup Syringe. I and many others could not use Startup Syringe because most of the boot images in the Resexcellence (www.resexcellence.com) Boot Image archive are in a graphic format or do not have the correct color combination (256 color), pixels (128x128), or correct .raw and .act files (Startup Syringe cannot use a graphic file such as .tiff). MacBoot was great at using almost any image the user wanted to use as a boot image. However MacBoot 1.0.2 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.2.4. If MacBoot is run under Mac 10.2.4, the system will crash due to many types of fatal errors. I told the creator of MacBoot about this problem and his response seemed to be that he didn't care. So I was forced to use Startup Syringe. However with BootImage Pal and the help of Graphic Converter, I was able to take any of Resexcellence's boot images and convert them to usable .raw and .act files that Startup Syringe was able to use. This application is a great and valuable tool to anyone who wishes to create or modify Boot Images correctly.
