Product Description:

Personal Backup X5 is the versatile backup program for Mac, offering backups, bootable backups and synchronizations. Personal Backup X5 protects Mac users from disasters by backing up files regularly. Users can create custom scripts to meet their precise needs, and Personal Backup X5 ensures that backup copies of their files are always available. The program's automated scripts ensure that users always have up-to-date backups.

Personal Backup X5 can back up important files to any hard disk, network volume or optical disc. The program can also create bootable backups of entire Macs, so users can get back to work quickly in case of system problems. And Personal Backup X5 can synchronize folders or volumes, to ensure that each one contains the same files.

What's new in this version:

This update addresses some minor issues and improves overall stability. This update is recommended for all Personal Backup X5 users.
Each of Intego's programs contains either a button on the main interface, or a section in the preferences for NetUpdate. Click this button, or click NetUpdate in the System Preferences panel.

Personal backup is unable to back-up my MacBook Pro's 160 GB hard disk into a 240 GB SATA external disk. It doesn't have enough space, the poor baby ....

I had the same issue almost a year ago, I wrote a comment here, nothing has happened. I agree 100% with the other fellow users-reviewers: either at Intego they don't read feedback, either they don't care, either they don't know how to fix their "masterworks". Probably all the above.

I have been using Intego Peronal Backup X5, Net Barrier X5, Virus Barrier X5 for some years. I currently am running them on a G4 Laptop and G5 Desktop with OS 10.4.11. I have never had a problem with any of their products and have always had quick response by email if I had a question. My experience is they have been superior. Great interface and updated regularly and easily. Intego produces 5 star products in my opinion. I also have Super Duper which is excellent backup software but I sort of lean to Intego Personal Backup.

Do not use it i warn you it just deleted 50+ GB of my videos from my external HDD
