Product Description:

Browse Volumes Lite has two components, a contextual menu plug-in and Launch Items Menu. A contextual menu plug-in, allows users to browse through the mounted disks (harddisks, CD-ROMs, or network disks), folders and files. It provides an easy way to open files and folders. If you select documents on the desktop, you can ask an application listed on the Browse Volumes menu to open those selected documents. The menu will be appear on most applications that support Mac OS X contextual menus. Launch Items Menu allows users to open files and folders from the menu bar. It can also act as an application switcher. The Launch Items Menu will appear on the menu bar of all running applications, therefore, users can access the module from any applications, including applications which do not support the Mac OS X contextual menu.

What's new in this version:

  • CM module supports both PowerPC and Intel Mac (universal binary).

do much: opens no more than 5 recursive folders and you can only browse the drive currently in use. It looks like it was released as a teaser for the shareware version and in this case Ittec will offer far more value for the price.

a free app but not in the same league as either the somewhat buggy FruitMenu or the absolutely brilliant Ittec (which is a FinderPop on Steroids). Sets you back $14.99 but for that you'll get all the goodies Browse Volumes pro offers plus several handy options including (but not limited to) control free clicking, a special Desktop menu in the unused Menu space, listings in the font of your own choosing and the ability to activate actions like moving items to the trash, copying tems etc.

can think of no better way to browse my 100GB, 255 max-char filename hard drives than via hierarchal menus. i hope apple hurries up with that 4096 pixel wide iMax Display..
