Product Description:

OnMyCommandCM is a command line instruction executor. UNIX command may take a clicked object path as a parameter so you may perform an action on file or folder. A command can be executed in Terminal.app or silently. But the best part is that you are building your own command, your own Contextual Menu Item. You type your command once and then it is just a click away!

A lot of effort has been put into making OMC as user friendly as possible. Please check OMCEdit for easy command editing and downloading user submitted, ready to use commands.

What's new in this version:

  • Added "Save As..." dialog. The path chosen with "Save As..." can be passed to CLI as a command argument.
  • New dialog type for input text is added: combo box. The dialog is shown with edit field and popup choice. Handy for pre-defined items but allows entering custom value.
  • Fixed a problem with "text in clipboard" context when a selected text was always preferred even if the context was explicitly "clipboard only".
  • Changed the behavior of "Always" context. Now always means truly always, no matter what is the context. Any application supporting contextual menus will display the item. However, this exposes contextual menu bugs in some applications (Camino, Safari, possibly others). Please read the "Known Problems" section at OMC website for details.
  • Online command collection contains about 170 commands. Some commands were updated to support features added in version 1.5.3. You are encouraged to submit your own commands to the archive.

OnMyCommandCM ReviewMagnificent - Version: 1.9, 1/23/2008 12:00AM PST

This is a wonderful and powerful utility; I'm already using it to replace FinderEye and AcidSearch, and it has many more possibilities beyond that. I found the UI of the command editor a little disorienting at first, but it was well worth the slight effort. I've been searching in vain for even a hint that the author accepts Amazon donations; this utility is so good that I’d be delighted to pay for it.

Great freeware offering the ability to create your own contextual menu commands. Very sophisticated software yet easy enough for non programmer types.

I made the switch to a MacBook Pro and while I liked it, I didn't love it. The problem was that much of the software I have come to rely on has not been ported to universal binaries. One of these glaring omissions was OMC. Using Mac OS X without it is painful and now that I have it again on my machine, I'm much more productive and happier. Thank you for this terrific software that is unbelievably versatile.
