Preferences don't work. Tabbing through the window doesn't work. I get two icons in the menu bar.

Final Countdown ReviewGreat App - Version: 1.7, 11/9/2004 01:10PM PST

I know i've said this before about other Eggtimer, but this is the best timing app out there. I've searched Versiontracker for all the other timer apps and this one is sticks out. Clean and full of features (as much as an egg timer can).

My only real complaint is a timer is a document methodology. Each timer you want to save has to be a document. This isnt that bad, it means i can but my timers in the dock, or launch them quicly with Quicksilver. I'd be nice to save sets of times as documents too.

Final Countdown ReviewBest of Class - Version: 1.7, 6/10/2004 12:40PM PST

I've tried every single timer app listed in versiontracker and eliminated them one by one. This is the best for a repeat timer (like reminding to take a brake).

Has multiple timers, option to repeat/start automatically, puts a control in the menu bar for each timer, and gets your attention when the time is up, even if the app is hidden. Its surprising how many timers fall short in this last area.

Recommendations:

I have to agree with the previous comments about the interface. This is a cocoa document based app and each document is a separate timer, requiring a document to be open for each timer running. There has to be a way around this, or at least include a control to toggle the document's visibility so the desktop doesn't get cluttered when Final Countdown is in the foreground? Its also kind of easy to accidentally change a timer. How about a lock? Thes controls could be located in the "Timers" window.

Also, Its too easy to close a timer by closing the document. How about a confirmation if the timer is running? Or a dialog asking if the user just want to hide/lock it?

Also, each document gets its own icon in the menu bar. This is also clunky. How about one icon that shows the status of every open timer?

Also, and this is really nitpicking, but maybe add transparency to the background of the menu bar icon?

Either way, I'm giving it five stars for being the current best.
