Can anyone confirm that's true? If so, I may hold off on installing 10.6.1.

Brilliant Software; Makes E-Mail Spam an Insignificant Issue

dgkanterBottom Line: A far better than 99% accuracy in handling Spam for me and an absolute bargain at the price. (I hope that RTM32 takes advantage of the technical support offered by the developer in their reply to RTM32's 1-star rating. I have to believe there's something basically wrong in how RTM32 is using SpamSieve.)
For what it's worth, some statistics for me for this year to date are that I received 7,772 messages of which 46% were identified by SpamSieve as Junk. (I'm sure others have been besieged by a far higher percentage.) Of those identified as Junk, there were only 13 messages that were false positives--and once I identified them to SpamSieve is "Not Junk", following examples of them were put directly into my Inbox. On the other side of the matter, only 50 messages that I considered Junk weren't, initially, so identified by SpamSieve--and once I told SpamSieve they were "Junk", their successor e-mails went directly to my Junk. As this posting's title says: Brilliant!

visitor1SpamSieve so rarely makes a mistake that it's counterproductive for me ever to review its actions anymore. And I don't.
Before SpamSieve, I was constantly angry at email time. Now I don't care how much spam I get, because I never see it.
I know I sound so amazed you might not take me seriously. But try it yourself. You'll see.

DrLeonPPerhaps someone should tell them a sieve allows material through' it does not block it. Or is that why they named it sieve and not blocker?

I have seen this in the past with a couple other DMGs not related to SpamSieve. But I was able to resolve the problem on those simply by using Disk Utility to "Convert" the DMG to a Read/Write or Read Only format. I tried that on this Spam Sieve DMG and it doesn't work.
So for now, I am unable to upgrade due to what appears to be a bug in the DMG (Tiger incompatibility?).
