Wx is an excellent weather program from Hunter Research and Technology.
It was named a "Mac Gem" by MacWorld in May, 2009.

In twenty-five years, I have never missed software this much.

Like everyone else, I've missed this little icon in my menubar since weather.com changed their information last week. I'm amazed at how sad I am -- this is the first time I've really mourned the "no longer supported" status of any software/app/widget/whatever. Meteorologist had been just perfect: current weather right up in the menubar; when I pulled the menu down, I got a detailed description, conditions in all my family and friends' hometowns, plus a week's worth of forecasts for all of us. (Okay, it did have one annoying feature: getting stuck if the computer went to sleep while it was loading information.) None of the alternatives is nearly as neat and complete.
Microsoft Office could disappear off the face of the planet, and I wouldn't bat an eye. Why do I miss this one silly application so much?
