Mail.app Conduit CommentaryDoes not work with missing sync 5.0.2, Versamail 3.0c, Treo 650 - Version: 2.0.1, 1/8/2006 02:45PM PST

I tried syncing numerous times with missing sync 5.0.2, Versamail 3.0c and my Treo 650 with not luck. The sync completes with no crashes on the Treo 650 and Missing Sync but emails do not show up on my Treo 650.

Mail.app Conduit Troubleshooting Reportcrashed every time - Version: 1.0.2, 10/11/2005 01:20PM PST

I tried to use it on OS X.3. I had no luck, the conduit just crashed every hotsync.
I wrote some scripts for MacNoteTaker and use MacNoteTaker as my handhelt Mail reader on a Palm III.

find Mac NoteTaker here on versiontracker.
find my scrips at osaxen.com

As my Palm E2 will arrive i hope i can use my Mac as Bluetooth access point and Versamail in IMAP mode. My mail is @AOL on a free 2GB IMAP account.

regards
Thorfinn

I find it annoying how VersaMail (the built-in mail program for the Zire 72) doesn't have a conduit for the Mac. It almost makes it a worthless product, if it weren't for this hack.

However, this hack isn't complete. It syncs with my Draft folder and not my Outbox which means the messages then have to be moved by hand into the proper folder (at least drag and drop works).

The biggest disadvantage to this program is its seemingly inability to send attachments. For me, this is key. I want to take photos off my Palm and post them in my emails. Without this ability, I have to sync, then go to my Media section in the Palm desktop and drag and drop them into the message prior to sending.

I see these as the two key improvements needed to get this hack up to par with a professional release software. If this occurred, I'd gladly pay some money to help the developer!

This will sort of make things work, but it doesn't do the entire job. What we really need is something to send the mail, not just sync it to the Draft folder in the mail application. It shouldn't require a manual send at all.

Mail.app Conduit Troubleshooting ReportCan't make this work. - Version: 2.0.0, 5/26/2005 03:31PM PST

I'm running VersaMail 2.7, Palm Desktop 4.1, and OS X 10.3.9 adn for the life of me, whatever version I use, I can't make this thing work.

Anybody know if it's possible, or any common issues with the program. I want so much to be able to sync my mail with my treo 600, but it seems like Palm and Mac have dropped the ball on this one.

Great little conduit, but can't get it to work with VersaMail under Mac OS X 10.4 - crashes the Palm, requires a reset.
