Plain Text Editor CommentaryWithout *trying* to be rude... - Version: 3.2, 8/23/2007 12:57AM PST

When an application has to mention "you can print your documents", and "you can check spelling", and so forth it's just got to be a bad sign. What next? "You can use *any* of your digits to type with?" Or perhaps, as per the screenshot: "you can also make the background a hideous pink so that the html text in there (without any syntax highlighting) looks disgusting".

Yeesh... as mentioned above, if you want a cheap text editor go for the free TextWrangler, which is several orders of magnitude more useful than this application. If you're prepared to shell out (sorry, bad joke) for a text editor than give TextMate a try for a month. It costs 39 Euros after that, but it's going to look pretty good against 15 Euros (no, I'm not joking) for 'Plain Text Editor'. If you think TextWrangler looks too complex for your usage than I can only plead with you to download "Tex-edit Plus" instead: it's cheaper and, well, let's just say "in a different league" to PTE.

In summary, this is much, much closer to Alpha than it is to Omega...

This is just what it says, a plain text editor, and I like it. This is nice when you're worried that apps are going to add junk to your text....like the old SimpleText.
