I've been using this on multiple computers for years -- ever since it first came out. No problems so far.

Of the actual Menu Extras I use, only one of them has any problems, and that is that it quits. As this affects only that one program (and I can just restart it), I suspect it's a flaw in that particular menu extra (Sound Menu).

The enabler itself hasn't given me any problems.

Menu Extra Enabler CommentaryThis guy is bad for my TIGER. - Version: 1.0.2, 8/11/2005 04:37AM PST

In my TIGER 10.4.2 programmes such as MYjazzBAND MenuExtraEnabler will kill the programme.

So who takes responsiblity?

TIGER, MYjazzBAND or MenuExtraEnabler?

For now I've got to remove MenuExtraEnabler.

I am still recommending MEE because it could be a problem with the "new" TIGER or with MYjazzBAND.

Menu Extra Enabler Commentarycomputer crashed - Version: 1.0.2, 7/31/2005 04:58PM PST

I didn't have the chance to try this program for my Mac crashed and it got me worried a lot.
After I installed MEE, I tried to restart my computer, but it refused to do so, I tried to log out without any response, tried to relaunch the finder, Force quit (option command esc) without any effect.
I checked my home folder and found out that all my folders were messed up: applications were placed in the System folder, the system Library was placed in the applications folder, the (all) users Library was placed in the Scripts folder and so on.
I was in a state of panic, how could I fix this without making things worse?
I tried to restart the computer, relaunch the finder and log out many times without any result: the computer didn't response to the commands given.
I wasn't even able to launch Safari to get some help on a forum, for Safari wasn't longer placed in the Apps folder.
I tried to replace the apps in the apps folder, System Library folders in the System folder and so on, but the finder wouldn't let me, it couldn't longer locate things…so finally I did the thing that could make things a lot worse, but there wasn't any alternative I knew of, I pulled the plug out and restarted the computer.
The booting went very slow and I already made peace with any disaster the abrupt disconnecting of the computer would create, but after 15 minutes the finder was launched and everything was ok: folders were back where they belonged…but I immediately trashed the MEE files, for any program that causes this amount of chaos isn't likely to be a blessing for my system.
I cannot rate it, for I never tried it, but be warned…
Editor's Note: Remember if you are having problems with the program, your best bet is to contact the developer directly at http://www.unsanity.com/products/ to be sure you can get the proper technical support! :)
