DbVisualizer CommentaryHow would this work on Panther? - Version: 6.0.2, 7/25/2007 07:58AM PST

    Marty.Skinner
Fairly recently this package has changed its requirements to include Java 1.5 as a minimum. Can someone explain how it's possible to do that on a pre-10.4 system? As far as I can tell, the maximum version of Java for Panther (10.3.9 in my case) is still 1.4.n. Is this just a case where the package needs to change (raise) their listed VersionTracker OS version requirements?

a great tool with GREAT support. Fast and acurate. Nice features like monitoring and graphics. Good gui and runs on lots of machines. I use it on macosX, hp-ux, AIX and windows. The price is fair. I mainly use it on oracle so I lack some oracle features but development has an open ear. It helps me browsing mysql. Can't wait to see version 5.

DbVisualizer Troubleshooting ReportInstaller not working for me. Anyone else? - Version: 4.1, 4/6/2004 09:57AM PST

Great looking database tool with glowing reviews. Unfortunately, I can't get it to install.

I've tried installing both v4.0.4 and v4.1 on three separate Macs (OSX 10.2.8 with all Security Updates) first with Java Framework v1.3.1 and then upgrading to v1.4.1 and kept getting the following error dialog box:

    • Installer UI Mode Error:
Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported
Unable to load and to prepare the installer in GUI mode.
    followed by
    • Fatal Application Error:
      This Application has Unexpectedly Quit
Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException. This application will now exit. (LAX)
and a bunch of java.lang.NullPointerException locations.

I've tried repairing permissions and re-prebinding with no change in results.

I could really use this tool on a current project, so don't make me go to a Windoze box! Please! ;)
