Product Description:
ecto is a feature-rich desktop blogging client for MacOSX and Windows, supporting a wide range of weblog systems, such as Blogger, Blojsom, Drupal, MovableType, Nucleus, TypePad, WordPress, and more. ecto is the successor of the wildly popular Kung-Log. With ecto you can write and manage entries for your weblog(s). The advantage over using your weblog's control panel is that you can compose entries offline and use the extra features ecto offers, such as spellcheck, creating links, attachments, amazon support, Flickr integration via 1001 and much more. ecto is designed to make blogging much more easier and yet give the users as much power as possible to manage their weblogs.
What's new in this version:
- A linebreak bug slipped into 2.4.0. Fixed with sincere apologies!
- There was an issue with presets and image templates. Fixed.
- Fix for color not being changed.
- Fixed rare issue with linebreaks.
- When using Blogger API ecto will now pass user-defined number of recent entries to retrieve instead of the fixed amount of 20.
- Fix for Twoday blog system's odd habit of converting spaces to #32 html entities in their xml.
- Fix for rare issue when upload sheets would have buttons disabled.
- Fixed issue with stationeries not retaining "None" as formatting option.
- Fixed rare issue with spaces before links being removed.
- Fixed issue where pasting from Word would create an attachment.
- URLs from Safari pasted in the HTML editor are inserted as plain text.
- Fixed issue where an id tag would be added to Amazon links created in Rich Text mode.

Gosh, this 3.0 version took a long time to show up on VT. Been using it for quite a while already and ecto is the best in it's class. Small and efficient and does everything I need. The developer is also very good at squashing bugs.

I'm sorry I plopped down my money for this one.
I downloaded the trial but didn't have time to play with it so ended up buying to have the convenience. What a waste. As another reviewer pointed out, this SW manages to mangle HTML and is unable to manipulate photos from iPhoto.
Basically, a waste of time and money.
