ecto is a feature-rich desktop blogging client for MacOSX, supporting a wide range of weblog systems, such as TypePad, MovableType, Nucleus, Blogger, and more.

ecto is currently in beta phase and it will expire end of January, 2004. After that it will become pay-ware, solely because it is part of my job now. People who previously donated will receive substantial discounts or a free upgrade, depending on their donated sum.

What's new in this version:

title field did not respect any modifier keys. Fixed.
html tag menu short cuts work again. There is now a copy of the html tag menu in the menubar (see Edit). Shortcuts now show there. Note that shortcuts that clash with existing ones, will not appear in the menu.

Gosh, this 3.0 version took a long time to show up on VT. Been using it for quite a while already and ecto is the best in it's class. Small and efficient and does everything I need. The developer is also very good at squashing bugs.

I'm sorry I plopped down my money for this one.

I downloaded the trial but didn't have time to play with it so ended up buying to have the convenience. What a waste. As another reviewer pointed out, this SW manages to mangle HTML and is unable to manipulate photos from iPhoto.

Basically, a waste of time and money.

ecto 2.4.2 is not under development, please use ecto3 - Version: 2.4.2, 7/12/2008 06:08PM PST
