I have used this exactly twice since downloading, but I am completely happy with it so far. Fingers crossed that it will continue to meet my needs. Kudos for such excellent freeware. You pay a lot of $ for worse products.

Fugu CommentaryNOT Universal Binary (Runs Emulated on Intel Macs) - Version: 1.2.0, 3/20/2007 12:00AM PST

Though this is a very good SFTP client, version 1.2.0 is NOT Universal Binary as the developer has indicated here at VersionTracker. It is PowerPC-only and thus runs under Rosetta emulation on Intel-based Macs.

This is a great application, with a nice interface. Everything seems to work perfectly, and it does everything I need. Many thanks to the developer for bringing this to us and offering it for free. Top notch software!

Fugu CommentaryGreat app! - Version: 1.2.0, 1/7/2006 03:42AM PST

In the domain of freeware ftp clients FUGU is from my point of view the best choice, escpecially since it works very liably, I had no unexpected crashs or errors, yet (which I encountered in other freeware ftp apps more often than I could bear). Moreover I love the additional scp support so that I only need one app for both ftp and scp (no more need for the previously used Terminal for scp copies). All in all: Great job!

Fugu Troubleshooting ReportFinder Shortcut Secure Copy - Version: 1.2.0, 11/9/2005 04:29AM PST

bruce.one
In Finder (Tiger 10.4.3) the Services Shortcut for Secure Copy is the same as "Send File to Bluetooth Device" Shift + Command + B which results in Fugu starting when I want to transfer a file via BT.

Should be changed asap please ??

recursive directory copy does not work. fugu developers, please RTFM. it's not that hard. just open terminal and type "man scp" at the prompt. thank you.

Fugu ReviewLove it... except for this one thing - Version: 1.2.0, 5/7/2005 10:23PM PST

I've used Fugu for quite a while, and it's great. The automatic switch-to-SCP for directories, for example, is really slick. The interface is wonderful, and all in all it's a pleasure to use.

BUT.

It has this one annoying habit that keeps cropping up. It won't let me delete remote directories -- apparently, as long as there's anything in them. So I have to go through the directories and subdirectories and sub-sub-etc., deleting everything as I go, and there's probably still at least one .DS_store file somewhere in there that will throw a spanner in the works even if everything looks OK. If I want to delete or replace a directory, I generally need to ssh in, go all the way to whatever directory I'm trying to get rid of, do rm -r directoryname, and sign off. One genuine pain in an otherwise delightful program.

And yes, I realize that this is SFTP's fault, but if there were a "jump to SSH and do this" feature for deleting directories in the same way that there's a "jump to SCP and do this" feature for copying them, I'd be a much happier man.

tried this as an alternative to transit. have to say i'm very impressed. it was transferring files that transit kept giving me strange errors on as well as being faster! the UI took a little to get used to but i'm over that and using this application for all my SFTP transfers now. thanks!
