DockIP Troubleshooting ReportBug report - PROXY trouble - Version: 2.0.1, 8/3/2004 09:07AM PST

noominal
"application has unexpectedly quit."

I loved Dock IP while I had no proxy settings and firewall issues to deal with. For a year it's worked great for me. Kudos.

Now I have to "log in" to get internet access since my office moved back to super-corporate land. Every time I try and launch Dock IP to see my IP address (since I have dynamic IP addressing) it now simply quits totally.

I am assuming it's the proxy deal. Or even the threat of pinging our external IP address? I don't know. I hate to dump it, but it worthless to me unless you can find a workaraound or fix.

Much easier/faster than checking in preferences or using any network utility! Have a small network and will install/autolaunch this app in all of my macs.

software connects to show the realworld IP address (which it does, along with the local IP) or maybe the author wanted to make a buck. I for one, am quite pleased with this little quick app.

find your IP using Apple System Profiler, but you must launch that app, wait for it to collect all the data (much more than just IP), and then you have to manually jot down the IP address and exit ASP. There are users who need their IP address on a regular basis for whom this app will save considerable time and trouble.

us on home networks, where we have a router involved it's a ton easier to have a minor app that gives BOTH the internal network and external network IP addresses. I will try this out at work as well, since we have ~250 Mac's there, all connecting to the internet through a pair of T1 lines (via routers and firewalls). Personally, I find this little app very useful. Especially, since it will allow me to check and see what IP my ISP is giving me at any given time.
