scotte_pie is right; documents don't seem to open properly (or at all) in this new version. That said, until now, I've had nothing but good experiences with this app. I'm sure the developer will fix the problem quickly; don't let a bad review scare you away.

when i first saw that it was a shell script editor i was hopeful that it is what i was looking for but then i used it. I have a current project PHPInstall witch i use textedit for but i tried to open that file in Wisp and nothing happened when i dragged the file to the icon, then i tried to open it with the open option and all it gave me was a blank window. Then i went under preferences to see if i was missing something and i changed a few setting and clicked apply and nothing. I'm guessing it applied the setting but gave not confirmation not even closing the window or beeping. I guess thats why it still in alpha, but rate now its just a wast of HDD space.

handle a vi type enviroment then you should really chekc out the OSX port of VIM (http://macvim.swdev.org/OSX/). It is quite nice and can handle just about any file type you throw at it. Plus once you get the vi commands down you will be so much more productive you will not ever know how you lived with out it!
