EyeTV Digital Video Recorder frees you from TV schedules. Find and track all the programming you want to see, and watch it whenever you want to. Pause live television. Skip commercials. Record your favorite shows permanently using your CD burner. EyeTV will change the way you watch television.

What's new in this version:

Hardware Support

Support has been added for the following Elgato TV tuners, available in Europe, Asia, and Australia:

  • EyeTV Diversity (2008), a dual-tuner DVB-T USB stick with Antenna Diversity.
  • EyeTV for DTT (2008), a DVB-T USB stick.
  • EyeTV Hybrid (2008), a USB stick that supports DVB-T, DVB-C, PAL/SECAM analog television, and FM Radio.
 

Support has been added for the following Hauppauge TV tuner, available in North America:

  • Hauppauge HVR-950Q, a USB stick that supports ATSC digital television, Clear QAM unencrypted digital cable television, and NTSC analog television.
 

FM Radio Support for EyeTV Hybrid (International 2008 Version)

The new EyeTV Hybrid (2008) that is available in Europe, Asia, and Australia now supports FM Radio with RDS (Radio Data System). When available from the broadcaster, the station name and the name of the currently playing song is displayed in EyeTV's player window:

On Screen Menu to Delete Recording After Playback

EyeTV 3.0.3 has a new On Screen Menu that prompts you to keep or delete a recording after playback is complete. 

Mark Recordings as Watched/Unwatched

EyeTV now has a contextual menu to flag a recording as "Watched" or "Unwatched". Select the recording, then choose the appropriate option from the action or contextual menus. A filter for Watched recordings has also been added to the Smart Playlist. 

Deleting Channels

Channels can now be deleted from within the EyeTV Channels list. Simply select the channel to be removed and press the delete key. "Delete Channels" can also be selected from the Contextual and Action Menus.

SiliconDust HDHomeRun

EyeTV 3.0.3 includes the 20080427 release of HDHomeRun firmware. To update the HDHomeRun, open EyeTV's Preferences dialog and go to the Devices section, then to the Info tab. If a firmware update is necessary, the "Update…" button will be displayed.

Bug Fixes

Hardware

  • Improved auto tuning for Clear QAM digital cable.
  • A hang on quit with EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 under Mac OS X Leopard and certain Macintosh models has been fixed.
  • Added support for the Eurobird 9 satellite for DVB-S products.
  • The EyeTV Hybrid (2008) now properly supports SECAM L analog broadcasts.

General

  • Improved EyeTV's overall stability and performance.
  • Resolved an issue where the Mac would wake up at midnight GMT.
  • Resolved an issue where the "Unplayed Recordings Badge" was sometimes displayed incorrectly.
  • Some changes were made to EyeTV's AppleScript dictionary to improve compatibility with the sdp and sdef tools in Mac OS X. See Elgato knowledgebase article 2726 for more information.

Playback

  • Improvements have been made in the playback of H.264 broadcasts.

Exports

  • Resolved an issue where exports to Apple TV resulted in unplayable files or would hang before completion.
  • Fixed a problem where exports with Closed Caption tracks failed to stream to the iPhone.
  • Resolved an issue where recordings prepared for Wi-Fi Access with "iPod + Cellular" settings would always stream at the higher resolution.

Guide

  • Fixed a problem where accented characters in the ATSC EPG would cause no program information to be
  • displayed.
  • Resolved an EPG sort order display issue with TitanTV and manually added/assigned channels.

Oh Elgato I do love your product. It is the best way to get TV into my Mac. However I do wish you would included a Cable Card slot into your devices. I know most US cable companies have to sell you a cable card if requested (they don't advertise this though).

According to MY application, I have the latest and it is still 3.2.1b10 (5616)

I'm running Snow Leopard and have NO problems having my Firewall on.

Instructions ARE available.

The one thing I haven't been able to get working is the iPhone app.

3.2.1 still not 64-bit!
Do developers only wait until an OS is out to update their apps, 10.6 has been available for developer testing for a LONG time!
