I've succeeded installing version 1.4 on my PowerBook, but it never worked on my G5 ! It gets stuck on searching the hard drive and never starts installing... Too bad as I have problems (with the precedent version and since Tiger) to get sound out of the 828mk2 when I wish to listen to anything coming from the Mac (iTunes, navigators, etc.) ; however sound comes out when I use Cubase !? Very strange... I hope MOTU gives a correct update soon.

Seems like v.1.3 is already out on the MOTU site, for Firewire drivers. Wonder why Versiontracker has not list it yet !?

Very nice - no problems. I uninstalled the old version before installing v.1.2.4. Re-started and all works fine. MOTU 828MkII plus 896 chained for 18 analog outs on my G4 dual 1.25G. using Logic Pro 7. Audio works great ! A good update.

Hi. Does anyone else have the problem of the 1.2.4 installer never completing and hanging? It never reaches the "finishing up" stage. Can someone confirm this? Thanks.

Well done, MOTU. The 1.0.7 driver's out the same day as Panther, and now my 828mk2 once again works perfectly in 10.3. Bonus points for adding in the feature to select the default input and output pairs for regular apps! You've just rescued a bunch of software I wasn't able to use anymore. The ability to rename channels is handy too.
It would appear some of these improvements depended on new things added by Apple in Panther. Whatever the case, the 828 has now got the same functionality in OS X as it did in OS 9, and that's great news. Especially since it means I get to stay in Panther now.

Anyone with an 828 or 896 will want to hold off on installing Panther until the next MOTU driver update. I've got 10.2.8 on one drive (and my 828mk2 works fine there), and 10.3 on the other, and the 828 goes haywire in Panther. The level meter lights flash randomly and it makes horrible noises.
