Capture Me Troubleshooting ReportWhite image - Version: 1.4.1, 9/20/2009 10:43AM PST

Sometimes when I capture something, the shutter click sounds like always, and the image shows up in the window like always, but when I save the file and check it, it's blank. I'm not trying to capture pictures of DVD movies, which I hear gives a similar problem sometimes.

My version is 1.4.1, I'm trying to capture an images from an online java art program.

Capture Me ReviewA real gem, and does just what it says. - Version: 1.2.1, 7/20/2007 08:20AM PST

I've been using ver. 1.2.1 of CaptureMe to capture screen images from DVD (the Mac's builit in DVD player doesn't allow this). I'm using OS 10.3.9, and this software does just what it says it will do -- quickly, cleanly, and easily.

I didn't realize that there had been two updates in the meantime -- ver. 1.3.x and ver. 1.4.1 -- and that ver. 1.4.1 can now capture one minute of video in QT. It requires OS 10.4 (I'm holding out for Leopard so I'm still using OS 10.3.9), but I'm perfectly happy with its screen capture ability alone.

I'm almost disappointed that CaptureMe offers video capture because it was just so intuitive and streamlined at capturing still shots that I don't want it to get complicated with extra features, as some shareware is wont to do. Why? Because users expect to see shareware "updated" regularly. If they see that the developer hasn't updated the program with a new release since 2 or 3 years ago, they assume that he's no longer involved with the software. But in some cases, it means that the software works! That's why it doesn't need tweaking or updating (just an update when a new OS comes along).

So developer, if you're reading this, I encourage you to develop your video capture software as a separate product. CaptureMe screen capture was perfect as it was. It's rare to find such a lean program that includes customization options and doesn't hog system resources. I like it that CaptureMe is small and does what it does well, which was to supplement something that's missing in the native OS.

Capture Me Reviewscreen capture needs work - Version: 1.4.1, 6/30/2007 04:47PM PST

rev.emilio
the image capture is nice and simple, but the movie capture needs work. on a G5 with plenty of RAM, capturing a Quartz Composition at 640x480 and 320x240, 30fps, turned out files that appeared to be 20fps, 4200kBps and 3500kBps, respectively, but never played more than 7 or 8fps.

too bad, otherwise it's very simple and nice to use. i look forward to future versions.

I've been using Capture Me for several years now and have always found it to be useful, fun, and trouble free. This newest version however is over the top! To be able to record video from a selected portion of screen, and then save it as a QT movie, is a welcome addition! As far as I have found, aside from commercial programs ($$$) that screen capture the entire desktop, this is the only program that lets you select an area and then capture it. Audio Hijack makes a nice companion to this program. And yes to be able to capture more than 1 minute would be nice, but I'm not complaining at all! THANK YOU RYAN FOR A GREAT PROGRAM!!!

Capture Me ReviewBrilliant! - Version: 1.4.1, 3/11/2007 10:15PM PST

Works great! But why the 60 second limit on video screen capture? I would like to capture streaming webcams (e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/mid//sites/surfing/pages/abercam.shtml) but the 60 second record limit kills that. :-(

I did the covers of a lot of dvd uyilizing CM: stopping reproduction, capturing the image, then utilizing jpg (or tiff) file as a layer in KightScriber. But it is not the only use I made. It is a very simple application: fantasy helps to use it.

Excellent tool for DVD screen capture. I have been looking for tool to do this. Before, I had to export DVD segment then grab using QuickTime. Very easy to use, very nice program at the right price - $0.00. Thank you developer!

Capture Me ReviewGreat program! - Version: 1.2.1, 11/21/2005 03:20PM PST

Capture me does what is says. And it captures from DVD player, while the Mac OS disables this option. And this is freeware. 5 stars all around. One thing to note with ever widening displays: it only captures up to 1000 pixels wide.
