Marine Aquarium ReviewThe best but wait for the next version. - Version: 2.6.1, 4/28/2008 05:57PM PST

Cool Al_X
If you have a monitor >1024X768, WAIT FOR THE NEXT VERSION. This and Goldfish Aquarium 2 are the best of this type of screen saver, as it has the most realistic looking fish. However, it has some major flaws that prevent me from recommending it: (1) The background looks low resolution (pixelated) on my 1920X1200 iMac display. (2) There is only one background to choose from. How hard is it for them to put in several high-resolution backgrounds, really?!

Marine Aquarium ReviewOk, but my real fish tank is better than this - Version: 2.6.1, 9/11/2007 11:39PM PST

The animation is quite stiff. I realized that none of the corals or other invertebrates move, which gives it an overly artificial feel. It is nice, but I don't see shelling out $20 for a screensaver that comes free for Windoze users. On the other hand, my electric bill alone for the real fish tank is about $70 per month.

Some people had trouble with this on Intel, but it works on my MacBook Pro without any trouble. Still the best Screensaver around, but it's time they introduced some new fish, features etc...Agree about the customer service though. I haven't had a reply after 6 months, LOL!

I've been using this for only a weekend, and I've already been getting comments on it!

It's nearly perfect. The only thing that I can think of that would make it 100% is downloadable fish. If I could add more fish to it, I would be in aquarium heaven. :)

As a side note, an option for the setting to be on a reef, rather than an aquarium would also be a welcome addition.

It is absolutely gorgeous on my dual monitor setup on my 2.7GHz Power Mac.

I only wish that the fish could travel from one monitror to another.

I highly recommend it for those who want eye-candy.

I tried the product and had a problem with it. I was contacted immediately by the tech support. When I gave them my system information, within a couple of days, they sent me a fix.

Seen both the application and the screen saver. BEAUTIFUL!

Bought it.

tech support responded to my email with a new registration code, which worked like a charm. i'm only disappointed that they issued me a non-working one in the first place. *grumble*

Marine Aquarium CommentaryCrashed system pref's - Version: 2.6.0rc2, 4/30/2006 11:40AM PST

I d/l, read the read-me, turned off virus protection, set display to thousands, etc. Installed, attempted to try screensaver. Crashed System Pref's. Re-checed read me, rechecked system pref's, display, virus protection, etc. Re-tried MA2.6.0 crashed system prefs after entering one letter of test license.

I launched the application, entered the test license phrase, BEAUTIFUL!.

Too bad, I can not recommend and won't pay for an item that crashes my system preferences.

If your upgrade key isn't accepted, make sure the new version of the screensaver is placed in the same folder as the orginal. In other words, you can't have the old one in the system library and the new one in the user library.
