ScanGear CS-U Plug-in Module CommentaryCanon make rubbish software... - Version: 6.5.0.0, 2/19/2004 07:14AM PST

Well isn't this ironic, as Alanis would say ;) Out of curiosity I try to download the Canon TWAIN for PhotoShop and it returns an ERROR page from the Canon site... Why ironic? Well the ONLY decent piece of driver software Canon ever wrote was a little TWAIN for Graphic Converter that let you run your Canon scanner directly through Graphic Converter (at the time, Canon had been flogging off their scanners to Mac OS X customers for about a year without having provided any OS X software to run them) The GC TWAIN worked well - and they pulled it off the net after about a week!!! And REPLACED it with one that only worked with Photoshop. AKA the one that won't download right here right now... So there's your irony, Alanis would be proud of you Canon - may it rain on your wedding day... Canon - don't bother with software if you can't be bothered honouring the people who buy your product in good faith. If you won't support the Mac community properly, then just be honest enough to stay with PC, and let the other brands cover Mac. Lip service does not become you. Shame on you.

to: http://consumer.usa.canon.com/osx/scanners.html there is a list of dates for driver completion, Drivers for the 1220 and the 650 are due in October. It certainly has taken too long, and I don't really want to defend them as they promised them much sooner, but at least scanning through Classic works fine.

scan you first must not be running classic. Depress one of the scanner buttons to activate the scanner then open photoshop(I'm using 7) and scan. If you follow these steps the scanner works great
