Product Description:

VirtualLab is a next generation recovery tool. It works by recovering data through an advanced client that connects to the Total Recall VirtualLab server over the internet. A free download of the client shows what files can be recovered prior to purchasing a session. A session is purchased for a specific amount of data each time the software is needed.

VirtualLab recovers data only, so there's less risk of causing more damage to the drive than with a repair type utility.

VirtualLab can recover data from drives that won't mount, files that have been deleted, and other software related problems. Physcially damaged drives should seek professional data recovery.

VirtualLab ReviewHidden Costs... - Version: 3.9.10, 12/18/2007 12:06PM PST

BinaryBiz does not put the cost of the VirtualLab product ANYWHERE on their website, but instead makes you go through the whole installation and trial process before you can find out the price - I find this tactic to be dishonest, secretive, manipulative, and completely unacceptable. I would not do business with a company that won't tell me the cost of their goods upfront.

VirtualLab ReviewWorks Great! - Version: 3.9.1, 6/19/2006 10:12AM PST

This software is one of the best I've tried to recover data. It does have a few quirks but I was able to get nearly everything off a hard drive. Nothing else would work, Disk Warrior, Disk Utility. FSCK, nothing.

There is a newer version now, 3.9.5 that works better than other people here have been complaining about.

VirtualLab Usage TipDoesn't work with Tiger.. but fix coming! - Version: 3.9.1, 6/5/2006 11:05AM PST

This app won't work in Tiger but I got word from their support department that they are working on a fix for it. Should be in the next month or so.

My guess is that these types of apps access the device low-level so when Apple changes the way that their OS works, it will break apps like these.

They do offer a windows application of the same name that will recover a mac volume from a Windows PC. Keeps the resource forks too.
