Carbon Declare Library CommentaryGreat Job! - Version: 2/28/04, 2/29/2004 07:45AM PST

old_mac
This is exactly why RealBasic (RB) needs to get it together. Everyday I see more libraries for RB and have to ask "why is this not included in RB".

IMHO RB will never make it as a "serious" development tool until much of Monkey Board and another 200 or so of these libraries are included within RB.

Currently, RB is just a fat framework, with all these bits and pieces floating around. I can have no confidence as a developer that changes made in RB will not cause problems with libraries.

RB should open their purse and purchase all these libraries and hire a few of the shareware programmers to ride herd on them.

Until this happens RB will remain an interesting platform for quick and dirty applications but nothing much more.

It will never become the long hoped for "Visual Basic" of the Mac.
