Promised bug fixes never materialize, emails go unanswered. This dog won't hunt.
This App does nothing when my phone rings - Version: 1.1fc4, 6/4/2005 05:58PM PST

As an earlier comment noted there is not any documentation. I plugged my mac into a splitter with the other cable going to my phone. So what do I need to do in order to see who is calling? I've opened CIDTrackerX and in the window the note says: "Server Mode: Waiting for Call" but nothing happens when the phone rings.
Actually it depends when you bought your Mac. - Version: 1.1fc4, 10/27/2004 06:17AM PST

The Microdash modems while accepting the strings actually do nothing when a call comes in. The IBM modems that came in the eMac after April 2004 should support caller ID. This is according to the PDF files about each modem released by Apple.

If Apple internal Modems don't have caller ID - Version: 1.1fc4, 10/26/2004 08:29PM PST

then how come they include those features for dial up internet accounts that support it?
I just don't know the proper AT codes. It does take some zoom caller ID codes and returns OK but nothing is displayed using zterm. If Apple gets it to work there must be something we are missing.

Applescript broken in 1.1fc4? - Version: 1.1fc4, 8/1/2004 05:28AM PST

After upgrading to 1.1fc4, the ability to launch an applescript broke.
The developer was notified of this quite a few months back on the Afterten support board and promised to look into it. Never heard a thing despite the fact he still manages to provide updates for WeatherManX.
Looks like this is an orphaned product. Buyer beware.

Where are the instructions?

This seems like a full-featured product, but where is the manual? There are many buttons and options in the preferences and elsewhere, but not much help in understanding the full potential. Does it do Call Waiting Caller ID? What modems are supported? What are the "Client", "YAC Client" and "Server" modes? What does a "Format" do? How do you make one? The list of questions goes on. This is really an incomplete product until a complete manual is included with the software.

- THERE IS NO SUCH THING!!!! Apple internal modems DO NOT SUPPORT CALLER ID!!! I don't care what the user manual says. NOT ONE PERSON I KNOW OF HAS EVER GOTTEN IT TO WORK. If ANYONE has OEM Apple Internal modem and have caller ID working let me know, I'll give you $100. And I'm not talking about the Global Village modems that were shipped in some Macs from the factory in the past. In any event, even if Apple's internal modems did have caller ID I'm 99% sure my program would work without any modification (just as it does with the GV modems that did ship as the standard internal modems in some Macs). Sorry for the rant but this is the one subject that really gets to me.

Internal Modem support, Until then 2 stars Nice try though
The bad news is that the program appears not to properly detach the modem when the computer goes to sleep. So if CIDTrackerX is running when the iMac goes to sleep, my computer gets stuck in sleep mode and requires a power cycle to restart.
I submitted a bug report and never got a response, and there have been no updates for quite a while. If it ever get fixed it'll be good, but right now it's useless to me.
