Product Description:

How you doin'?

The Sims are dating! Wine and dine or crash and burn, get into the romantic swing of things. Play matchmaker to your Sims and see if the sparks fly or fizzle. Get them out of the house and into the all-new downtown area complete with shops, restaurants, parks and a beach, where they'll gossip over a candlelit dinner, buy gifts for their dates, or just cruise the strip in hopes of getting lucky.

There are over 40 new one-on-one interactions. With brand new characters to meet and date, like the Dream Boat, Lounge Lizard and Femme Fatale, and over 125 new items, including a picnic basket, cuddle couch and Lover's Swing, the stage is set for the ultimate romantic interlude! Will your Sims find true love or be destined to a lifetime membership to the lonely hearts club?

What's new in this version:

  • In certain circumstances (usually when running under Mac OS 8.6), the game would always erroneously ask for "The Sims" CD at startup or report a -43 error.
  • The preferred memory partition size (applicable in Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9) has increased from 130MB to 200MB. This means that the application will request 200MB of memory at launch time. If less memory is available, it will use the largest amount of memory available between 130MB and 200MB. The application will not run if less than 130MB is available. Although not necessary, you may wish to increase your virtual memory settings, or better yet, install more physical RAM to accommodate this change.
  • Occasionally, the Room mood bar was overdrawing to the left, most notably in a pool house room.
  • At the end of the install process, when the user is asked to insert one of their previous expansion pack CDs, the Hot Date CD was not always being ejected.
  • Fixed an OS9 crash associated with the Repo Man and Clown Catcher.
  • Reduced CPU usage while the game is paused.

The Sims Hot Date CommentaryCrashes constantly - Version: 2.3.1, 3/9/2004 06:39AM PST

Superstitious
When my people went to sleep, the game crashed as the game speed went to level 3. I've tried a bunch of things, like only using objects from the game (not from the web). I even tried removing all my downloaded objects. Still, I got crashes.

I'm going to go back to Livin' Large and hopefully it won't crash. It used to run fine. Maybe my PowerLogic processor upgrade is part of the trouble?

The Sims Hot Date ReviewCrash... crash... crash...… - Version: 2.3.1, 3/12/2003 04:09PM PST

Entica
Doesn't matter what I do. Crashes all the time. Phone the maid, go downtown, buy the lower left lot, etc. Repeatable crash all the time. This is junk - come on Aspyr fix this! Yet again mac users are second class citizens. My PC version runs flawlessly (and faster). Dual G4/450 1gb ram all expansions installed.
